Iron Infusions

There are many circumstances where oral iron is poorly tolerated, ineffective, or where an intravenous infusion is simply the preferred approach. We provide iron infusions in-clinic, with a GP assessment beforehand to confirm it's the right option for your situation.

Who are iron infusions for?

Iron infusions are commonly recommended for people who are unable to tolerate oral iron supplements, or whose iron levels require faster restoration than supplements can provide. This includes women during pregnancy and the postnatal period, people managing ongoing iron deficiency, and those with absorption difficulties related to gut conditions.

How do they work?

Before your infusion, you'll have a GP consultation to review your blood results and confirm the appropriate treatment. The infusion itself is administered in-clinic and typically takes between 30 to 40 minutes. Our team will monitor you throughout and advise on what to expect afterwards.
