Your baby's check-up schedule

Your baby's health and development are monitored at key stages throughout their first year.  Each check-up is an opportunity to raise any concerns, discuss feeding, sleep or behaviour, and ensure your baby is progressing well.

Our routine postnatal care model includes:

  • Phone call check-in: Within the first week to see how you and your baby are settling in.
  • Midwife appointments: At weeks 2 and 4, to check on your baby’s developmental milestones, feeding progress, sleep, weight and maternal recovery.
  • GP health reviews: GP appointments at weeks 3 and 6, to review your baby's health, parents wellbeing and address any early concerns.
  • Immunisations: Scheduled at 6 to 8 weeks, 4 months, 6 months and 12 months.

Frequently asked questions

Can I access the postnatal program if I didn't have my pregnancy care with WFP?

Yes. We welcome families who delivered elsewhere and are looking for structured postnatal support. Book an appointment and our team will take it from there.

When should I book my first postnatal appointment?

We recommend booking before your baby arrives so your postnatal care is organised and ready to begin straight after birth. If you are unsure, please get in touch with our team. We’ll help you figure out the right time for your first appointment.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can book directly through our website.

What if I need support between scheduled appointments?

Our team is available between appointments. If something comes up that needs attention before your next scheduled check-up, contact the clinic and we will find the earliest available time.
