Breastfeeding & Infant Feeding

Feeding your baby can be one of the most rewarding parts of early parenthood, and one of the most challenging. Whatever you're navigating, our lactation consultants and GP team are here to help you work through it and find an approach that works for you and your baby.

Lactation Consultations

Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) provide specialist support for all aspects of infant feeding. Whether you're preparing for breastfeeding before your baby arrives, working through challenges in the early weeks, or navigating a feeding journey that hasn't gone to plan, our lactation team will work with you to understand your situation and develop a plan that's specific to you.

If you have a history of breast surgery, a medical condition that may affect milk supply such as PMOS or diabetes, or a difficult previous breastfeeding experience, a 1:1 appointment with our lactation team is the best place to start.

Breastfeeding & Bottle Feeding Challenges

Feeding challenges are common and can take many forms. Low milk supply, latch difficulties, painful feeding, unsettled feeding behaviour, or navigating the transition to bottle or mixed feeding. Our team provides assessment and support across all of it, helping you identify what's contributing and work towards a feeding relationship that feels sustainable for your family.

Tongue Ties & Oral Ties

Tongue ties and oral ties can significantly affect a baby's ability to feed effectively and are not always identified early. If you're experiencing feeding pain, your baby is struggling to latch, or feeding isn't feeling right despite other support, an assessment for tongue tie or oral tie may be an important next step.

Our team provides assessments and can guide you through your options and next steps following a diagnosis.

Reflux & Constipation

Reflux and constipation are common in young babies and can make feeding and settling particularly difficult. Our GPs and lactation consultants work together to assess what's happening, identify possible contributing factors and guide you on the most appropriate management approach for your baby.

Live Breastfeeding Workshop

Our live breastfeeding workshop is designed to set you up for a confident start, ideally attended before 34 weeks of pregnancy.

Led by our lactation team, the session covers how breastfeeding works, how to build a healthy milk supply, how to read your baby’s feeding signals, and how to achieve a comfortable latch. It’s interactive and practical, with opportunities to ask questions and hands-on practice using a doll. Partners and support people are encouraged to attend so they feel prepared to provide practical help and encouragement in those early days and weeks.
