Pregnancy is one of the few times in life when everything feels important all at once. It also usually comes with a constant stream of decisions, endless questions and conflicting advice.
Here at Western Family Practice, your care is planned as a whole. You’re supported by the same team of experienced GP obstetricians and maternity specialists throughout your whole pregnancy and beyond, so you’re never left trying to piece things together on your own.
Your Pregnancy Journey
From your first appointment through to birth, your pregnancy care will follow a structured plan with all the appointments and programs you’ll need.
You’ll be guided by GPs and specialists who understand your history, your preferences and what matters to you. That means fewer repeated conversations and more personalised guidance at each stage.
High Complexity Pregnancy
If you’ve had previous pregnancy-related challenges or have health conditions that may lead to a high-risk pregnancy, your care is planned with that in mind from the beginning.
If your pregnancy becomes more complex over time, your care is adjusted early. Because a multidisciplinary team is already involved, additional support can be introduced without disrupting your care or losing continuity.
Ready to Birth Class
Preparing for birth is about knowing how to respond in the moment. Our Ready to Birth classes walk you through what to expect, how decisions are made, and how to approach different scenarios with confidence. Partners are included, so both of you feel prepared.
We’re passionate about personalised pregnancy care.
We know everyone’s journey into parenthood is different. That’s why we’re dedicated to understanding your personal experiences and concerns, so your care can best reflect what matters most to you.
FAQS
What makes pregnancy care with you different?
You’re supported by one connected team throughout your pregnancy. Your care is planned as a whole, rather than split across separate providers, so you have more consistency and clearer guidance at each stage. You’ll have access to a variety of workshops such as antental classes, lactation consultation, birth classes, and more as part of your pregnancy journey with us.
Will I see the same doctor throughout my pregnancy?
You’ll see the same GP and team of familiar clinicians, who will all be involved in your care from early on. This continuity helps build trust and ensures your care reflects your preferences and history.
Can I move my care to Western Family Practice mid-pregnancy?
Yes. In many cases, we’re able to step in at different stages and ensure your care continues smoothly from where you are.
Can my partner be involved in appointments?
Yes, our appointments are designed to include them. We include partners as part of the care process, so they feel informed, supported and involved throughout the pregnancy.
What if my pregnancy becomes high-risk?
Your care will be adjusted to reflect your needs, with additional support brought in as required. Because your team is already involved, changes can be managed smoothly without disrupting your care.
Where will I give birth?
We’ll talk you through your options early, including hospital arrangements and what to expect, so you can make informed decisions about your birth plan.
