Finding the right care for your pregnancy is one of the first and most important decisions you'll make in your journey. At Western Family Practice, your pregnancy care is delivered by a dedicated team of midwives and GP obstetricians who work together around you, from your very first appointment through to birth and beyond.

From your first appointment, you'll be supported by a dedicated midwife and GP obstetrician who work together and stay with you throughout your entire pregnancy. Your midwife leads your antenatal appointments and is your first point of contact between visits. Your GP obstetrician oversees your medical care, monitors your baby's growth and manages anything more complex that may arise.
When you need additional support, the rest of your village is ready. Our in-house team includes lactation consultants, psychologists, a dietitian and a speech pathologist, all coordinated through your midwife and GP obstetrician so your care stays connected at every stage.

Here at Western Family Practice, your pregnancy appointments are structured around more than monitoring your baby's growth. As your pregnancy progresses, your care covers:

Growing a family is something you're doing together, and your care at WFP reflects that. Partners are encouraged to attend all appointments throughout your pregnancy, with specific appointments designed around their involvement in your care and birth preparation.
Beyond that, we offer dedicated partner appointments and mental health support, so the whole family feels held and prepared as you step into parenthood together.
As early as possible. Your initial appointment with your midwife can be booked as soon as you find out you're pregnant so your care and investigations can be organised from the start.
No referral is needed. You can book directly through our website.
Yes. We regularly support women who transfer their care at different stages. Book an appointment and our team will take it from there.
Yes. You'll see the same midwife and GP obstetrician throughout your pregnancy so your care stays consistent and personal.
Your GP obstetrician monitors your pregnancy at each stage and will adjust your care plan if anything changes. Because your whole team is already involved, additional support can be introduced without disrupting your care.
